Be Safe - Student Safety

Public Transport

Public transport is a reasonably cheap and environmentally friendly way to travel, so is a popular option for many students.

Just like any other public place, there are precautions that you should take to stay safe:

  • Travel with a friend if possible
  • Try to avoid falling asleep and leaving your bag unattended
  • Travel near the driver or guard
  • Plan your trip and stick to well-used routes where possible

Bus services are the most common form of public transport available around Wollongong, but train services are also available. See the links below for more information.

The UOW Transport site is full of information about getting to and from UOW campuses, including the UOW Shuttle Bus and the free Gong Shuttle Bus. Find out more about Getting to UOW »
